20180730 Matt Lesser for Connecticut State Senate - 2018-08-14
Matt Lesser has been a WFP champion since he first ran for the Connecticut State House in 2008 and now he’s running for the State Senate. He has fought beside WFP for minimum wage increases, paid family leave, a state ban on fracking waste, and clean elections. Matt passed the country’s first-ever Student Loan Bill of Rights, which has attracted legal challenges from Betsy DeVos and the Trump administration. Matt is running in a primary against a conservative Democrat who has voted against marriage equality, against a ban on discrimination against transgender folks, against in-state tuition for Dreamers, and against paid sick days. With Connecticut’s State Senate tied 18 Democrats to 18 Republicans, we cannot afford for a Democrat who doesn’t care about immigrants, our LGBTQ community, or low wage workers to hold this seat.
